Rossese Experience Week is an event that transforms the village of Soldano into a showcase for wine, culture and traditions. For a whole week, the village comes alive with a packed programme of tastings, meetings with producers, exhibitions and live music, with a special focus on promoting Rossese di Dolceacqua wine and its links with the local area. The aim of this week is to raise the profile of Liguria’s first wine to be awarded DOC (Denominazione di Origine Controllata) status over 50 years ago, as a typical local product and an integral part of the local collective identity, inviting visitors to discover the wine-growing heritage and landscapes of western Liguria.
The highlight of the festival is the ‘Nelle Nicchie del Rossese’ event: a special evening taking place amongst the village’s most picturesque spots, including ancient alleyways, hidden squares and glimpses of Soldano’s historic centre. Here, glasses of Rossese are paired with local flavours and art, creating a convivial atmosphere thanks to a widespread food and wine trail that celebrates the region’s excellence and winemaking tradition.
The “Nelle Nicchie del Rossese” evening is particularly popular because it transforms Soldano’s alleyways into a journey of flavours and stories, where wine interacts with the urban and natural landscape. Those who take part will find inspiration to taste Rossese, learn the stories of those who work the land and preserve traditions, whilst sharing a passion for their craft. It is a different way of ‘savouring’ the area, feeling part of the community, even if only for one evening.
